Group Therapy and Intensive CBT
Group Therapy
I conduct cognitive-behavioral groups for anxiety, depression, parenting skills training, and social skill improvement. Group therapies can be "stand alone" treatments, or occur before or after individual therapy. Group therapy provides an opportunity for relating to, understanding, and discussing problems with other people who suffer from the same or similar symptoms. Many exercises are built into group therapy, to help you and the other group members practice skills and receive feedback from one another.
Intensive Therapy
At times, longer or more frequent sessions may be beneficial for clients. If indicated, CBT can be offered more than once weekly. Elements of CBT can also be provided in longer duration sessions, including prolonged exposure therapy. Intensive CBT can be especially helpful when helping clients confront fears related to obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, panic disorder with or without agoraphobia, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
